My Journey at the October Shows

I just want to give a big THANK YOU to all of the wonderful people I met during what we’re now calling my “October Tour.”  The shows were so much more successful than I could have ever imagined.  And it was so cool that the Beverly Hills Art Show ended up using so much of my work to promote the show.  Thank you again and I hope to see all of you at future events!

A Trip Home

Downtown Longview – We had yummy cupcakes at this place.

Just got back from visiting family and friends in my hometown, Longview, WA.

It’s so pretty there. The longer I’m away the more I miss the trees, lakes  and rivers.

Lake Sacajawea – my favorite place for a walk.

Lake Sacajawea – or to just sit and watch the ducks go by.

The Kalama River – fun to float down on a hot day!

Ode to Hollywood-August 25th

On August 5, 1962 we lost a legend named Marilyn Monroe.  Her beauty and glamour made people forget her frail innocence. In pictures of Marilyn there’s a naive girl hoping to find love in the public eye… and the ultimate Hollywood story.

In paying tribute to Hollywood, for the “Ode to Hollywood” show I felt it’s important to not only celebrate the glamour, but to embrace the tragedy.

So I chose Marilyn Monroe.

I grew up admiring her, both my Mom and Dad collected pictures of her. I grew up knowing her story and wished it didn’t end so tragically.

I was happy to have a reason to paint her, I’ve started many drawings of her and never finished them…

So here she is, the painting is called “Purity of a Legend” and it will be at the Jeanie Madsen Gallery.  Opening night is August 25th, 7-10pm and goes through September.

There will be a red carpet, wine bar, food and DJ.  Sounds like fun to me! So if you’re in the area please stop by.

Getting ready for La Luz de Jesus

I’ve been wanting to submit artwork for this show for awhile, but I kept running out of time. :)

But this year I made a point to get some paintings together to submit and hopefully become a part of the Laluzapalooza: Everything But The Kitschen Sync Vol. XV Group Show.

And I’m happy to announce that I got in!  Out of over 9,000 submissions they chose around 120 artists for the show.

Opening night is on March 2. Check out the flyer below for more info.

The painting that will be in the show is called “Landscape with a Cherry on Top” Here’s some pics of it below.

Don’t forget to come out and see me, it will be a great show!

Epic Mickey and me :)

© Disney

I created this piece of art for the game Epic Mickey while working at my day job, Eclipse Advertising.

I just found out that Disney is using it as a special edition print in the U.K. How cool is that? :) It can also be found online at the Disney Store U.K.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb! (a preview)

Hey guys! I thought you would want to have a look at a new painting I’m working on…. rough title: Cherry Bomb

Hey Now! I’m a Rock Star!

Or at least I play one in movies….

OK, maybe not, but I feel like a Rock Star cause my artwork will be going on a National tour with The Sketchbook Project 2012.

I just received my sketchbook and instructions in the mail and I’m ready to start sketch’n.

I will be posting my progress on my lovely little book, so stay tuned!

Disney, a dinosaur and the Eiffel tower.

What does Disney, a dinosaur and the Eiffel tower all have in common?  Vegas Baby!!!!  More specifically at the Las Vegas Licensing Expo of course!!!

Me and my good friend and fellow artist Andrea headed to Las Vegas in June to learn how to license our artwork.  There’s a lot to learn about art licensing but I think I’m well on my way to getting it all down.

I plan on being in one of the shows for next year, and I will keep you updated on all the craziness of getting everything ready for my show debut.

But for now I thought I would share a few pics from the trip.

Oooohhh A mean looking dinosaur on the way to Vegas.
